She has been released from the institution, but still wears a straitjacket. It's time for another edition of...Crazy Grandma Ichikawa Storytime!
The other day at work, Lisa was talking to her friend. Amazing, yes -- Lisa has a friend, but that is besides the point. Lisa's friend was telling her that this upcoming Sunday there's going to be a Farmer's Market just down the street from us. It will have the usual pop-up tents full of produce and kettle corn, but there will also be pony rides and a petting zoo. Sadly, the petting zoo turns into a churrascaria at closing time, but we can bemoan that fact later.
Lisa thought this might be a fun little outing for the kids. We've been contemplating taking the kids to the zoo, but our laziness has been ruling that out for the past month. So what could be a better way of introducing the kids to animals they eat than at a petting zoo!
When Lisa came home from work, she thought she would invite my parents to the Farmer's Market this upcoming Sunday. My parents came back down to Los Angeles last weekend to babysit the kids during the weekdays since I returned to work on Monday. Except for the trips to the mall and the grocery store, Crazy Grandma and Lazy Grandpa tend to keep to themselves on the weekend; it would be nice for them to come out and walk around an open-air market.
My parents agreed with Lisa that it would be a nice outing for the family. We could buy some organic produce, eat a snack, and call it an afternoon. Lisa then mentioned to my parents that there was going to be pony rides and a petting zoo. This did not thrill Crazy Grandma Ichikawa.
"We no should go to Farmer Mahket naw," said Crazy Grandma.
"Why?" asked Lisa.
"Twee words," answered Crazy Grandma. "Dirty. Diseased. Animals."
In conclusion, we'll be at Target on Sunday afternoon.
