Day 553 - Park It

Although we have taken the kids to a park before, they were too young to walk around and explore it.  They couldn't explore the tunnels and bridges.  They were too little to gasp and giggle on a swing.  And they did not know the difference between their poop and dog poop.

Now that a handful of months has passed, Lisa and I decided to revisit the park since Emma and Andrew are much older and the weather was so nice.  Besides that, I needed to spend a little time in shorts to recolor my pasty yellow legs.  We slathered on the sunscreen, packed some snacks, and hit the road.

The first thing I noticed when we got to the park was that we dressed the kids incorrectly:  we put them in shorts.  Although the weather was perfect for shorts, it was a bad idea to mix clumsy toddlers and assorted types of ground (i.e. sand, wood chips, cement, and broken beer bottles).  Thankfully this park had a fenced in toddler playground with soft sand perfect for clumsy babies and diarrhetic animals.

The kids enjoyed the entire playground, but the one thing they liked the most was the swing.  And I've got to say that I enjoyed the swing the most too.  It's the perfect playground toy for kids and adults.  For the kids, they can enjoy the exhilarating feeling of flying back and forth without the fear of falling.  And for the adults, they can enjoy the exhilarating feeling of not having to chase their kid back and forth without the fear of getting a heart attack.  It's no accident there's always a line for the swing!

Here is a short slide show of the kids at the park...
